What is a Gentleman? If you Google this question you get the dictionary result – a gentleman is a chivalrous, courteous, or honourable man. A little-known fact about me is that I am a lover of period drama. In fact, I often believe I was born in the wrong generation or perhaps have already lived in a prior one (oo-er, bit creepy)! You see, I love a ‘gentleman’ and thankfully for me I married one almost 8 years ago. I love the romanticism of the little chivalrous acts he does for me. My doors are opened, he walks nearest the cars in a street, he’s kind and polite (ok we have the odd spat but who doesn’t) and he is definitely honourable. I personally (and I am sorry feminists) love some of the old-fashioned ways of yesteryear and think it’s important not to lose them all. So, when it comes to buying for the shop I am very much buying for a ‘gentleman,’ a man who deserves to be treated for treating me so kindly. Gifts for him are tricker I think than us ladies, especially for a chap with no sporting hobby or interest but there are good gifts for men out there – and here’s a few of our favourites.
This gift looks fabulous on a desk and will add a modern twist to a study or man cave. Gingko’s smart book light is a great gift for men. This smart Book Light looks like book when it's closed, but when opened it turns into a beautiful light, emitting a wonderful ambient white soft LED light through the water-resistance pages.
The beautiful, exquisite design opens to full 360 degrees with cleverly concealed magnets and the lovely soft touch papers are tear-proof and water-resistance and are lit by long-lasting LED lights (guaranteed a minimum 35000 hours use)
The book light is totally wire-free as it's powered by an in-built rechargeable battery, so you can place it at anywhere you want, your sitting room, lounge, bedroom or even in the kitchen. The battery will take approximately 2-3 hours to charge and it will last about 10-12 hours on constant use on one charge or it can be plugged in permanently as well. It's not just a light, it's also a lovely piece of design that makes people say WOW when they see it. We have a couple of different sizes and colours and prices range form £35 - £68.
As a businesswoman (more in my alternate guise at Access Care) I am always impressed by a good pen in a meeting. Is that daft? I don’t think so. I think a good pen shows a sense of pride in your work and creates a statement or ‘I am here and I mean business, take me seriously,’ plus I can tell a person’s style from their pen too (which play to my more creative O&P side). Now, there are the Mont Blanc’s of the world and they are stunning but these ‘Autograph Pens’ are a more affordable option and still look good. We have a range of styles and designs raging from £18.50-£22.50
Next up is a great speaker! A cool gadget and a great gift for him with instructions (not that he’ll read them – aha)! Housed in a 100% natural and sustainable wood casing and breathable fabric top, the Tumbler Selfie Bluetooth Speaker is not just any portable selfie speaker.
This handy and sleek looking design not only plays your favourite tunes with a powerful sound in such a neat size, but also features a hands-free Selfie function to capture any moment at anytime, anywhere. It also comes with a stylish hand strap to make it even more portable and the hidden USB charging port on the back of the tumbler makes it look even more sleek. It is powered by an in-built rechargeable battery and it has a long battery life up to 10 hours playing. The unique tumbling feature certainly makes this design stand out from the speaker crowd and creates a little bit more fun to your music experience. Listen, play and interact! These great speakers are £40 and make a wonderful gents gift this Christmas.
Tinkalink – everyone needs one in their stocking this Christmas. Available in a variety of designs this clever sticker will ensure no one steals his charger! For £6.95 this is a perfect stocking filler for a man.
Last up is this reasonably priced stag bottle holder which will look fabulous on the Christmas lunch table this year and add a touch of glamour! At just £24 you’ll know it’s not silver or even plated but it does look great and is a great present for that dear man in your life (see what I did there).
I hope this guide has given you some ideas for gifts for men this Christmas.
